Koch, Ed(ward Irving)
(n. 12 dic. 1924, Nueva York, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Político estadounidense. Luego de prestar servicios en el ejército durante la segunda guerra mundial, se tituló en la escuela de derecho de la Universidad de Nueva York. En 1968 fue elegido para integrar el Congreso de Estados Unidos y, en 1978, fue elegido para el primero de tres períodos como alcalde de la ciudad de Nueva York. Se le atribuye el mérito de haber dado estabilidad fiscal al insolvente municipio y de haber instituido la selección por méritos de los jueces de la ciudad. Su descaro desparpajo y franqueza lo convirtieron en una figura popular y amena, pero su actitud y su retórica aparecieron cada vez más hirientes y divisorias, hasta que culminaron en su derrota. Después trabajó como columnista y presentador de programas de entrevistas.
